■ Family Gathering Xmas Party 2008

We have our family Xmas party on the 25th Dec night at my 2nd sister’s house. Each of us sisters will bring our food to her house to celebrate. My mom went to my 2nd sister’s house in the afternoon to prepare some food. My mom fried the fried noodles and fried rice stick (bihun in Malay word) while my 2nd sister is fried the nuggets, sausages and also bought the roasted chicken from Ayamas.

My eldest sister is preparing sandwiches and my youngest sister is preparing spaghetti. Myself, I bought a Xmas cake and red wine. Below picture is the xmas cake that I ordered. It is a fruit cocktail cake.

This is the Xmas tree at my 2nd sister’s house. Underneath the Xmas tree are the presents to be given away to kids later on.

This picture is showing some of the food from us. Some of the foods are still at the kitchen.

Yummy! This is the food that taken by one of my nephew.

After eating, the kids are busy themselves looking for their own present under the Xmas tree. We stick their name on the present so they know which present is belong to them.

We all family members really have a wonderful night on 25th Dec.

■ Christmas Eve 2008

"We Wish You A Merry Xmas(x3) and A Happy New Year". I'd like to share some pictures taken during the Xmas Eve Mass on 24 Dec 2008.

Here, I’d like to introduce the church of “The Holy Spirit”. The picture shows the outlook of the church.

This is another view of the church.

They decorated the “stable” at the outside of the church. It is not a poster but it is a 3D model.

This is the closer look at the new born baby – Jesus.

This is the Main Hall of the church.

This picture shows the crowd of Christian and the mass is just to begin. Father and the alterboys also can be seen in the picture.

Father and the alterboys.

This picture is showing the short drama (about 30 minutes) demonstrated by the kids. The motive of the drama is to explain to all that Christmas Day is not the birthday of Santa Claus but is the birthday of Jesus Christ. This is a very meaningful drama as nowadays most of the children have been influence by the commercial that Christmas Day are belong to the day of Santa Claus!

This is another view of the drama section.

This picture is showing all the kids that are taking part in the drama show.
Sorry for not posting up any photos during the “Holy Communion” ceremony as the photos taken are very blur.

Right after the mass finished, the Youth Club members are having the Christmas caroling outside the church. The environment at that moment is very hilarious.

Picture of Santa Claus is giving away candies to children while the Christmas caroling is continued to sing a long.

The Mass started at 8pm and finished at 9:30pm. We left the church about 10pm.

■ Payday Loans

Global economic turns very badly nowadays, many multinational companies overhere in Penang having shutdown from Christmas day till 4th Jan 2009. All employees are force to apply leaves for the shutdown period. For those employees who have no leaves, they will be unpaid during this shutdown time frame. Yesterday, local TV news reported that many of the multinational companies (mostly from the electronics sector) would not be “closing shop” but would be down-sizing by retrenched their employees in the next three months. Some of the small-and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) strike by the “heavy wave” and they are really “closing shop” due to dwindling demand for their goods and products. And now our government is prepare to help the SMEs to face the global economic issue.

Well, “no work” meaning “no money”. When people start facing lack of cash, applying bank loan is the only solution to overcome the financial problem. I’m reckoning by this time, the quantity of loan applicant must be ramping up. People will tend to apply bank loan to pay for their house, car, personal expenses, education and more. But for those who are a bad credit, they will definitely not getting the approval from any bank loan. So my advice to them is that, they can try to apply payday loans as payday loan lenders will extend the loans to them even they are a bad credit, slow credit or no credit. Hope that they are not becoming the victims of “loan shark”.

■ Christmas Eve 2008

Everbody... let’s sing it!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride, in a one horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride, in a one horse open sleigh

Yeah..................Merry Xmas to everyone of you!

My mom makes an announcement a few days ago, “girls, this year we are going to attend the Xmas Eve mass at 8pm, so make yourself available on that night”. And we all sisters answered, “Yes, madam” (meaning, ok noted mom!).

So among us sisters, we have a little short and fast discussion by then...so and so will going to fetch so and so...this is due to we have to carpool as parking lots in the church is limited. So, the end result is, hubby and I will go and pick up my 2nd sisters (Anna) and her 2 sons. My eldest sister (Annie) whole family and my mom will fit into her car. And my youngest sister (Irene) and her family will be in their own car.

I will try my best to snap a few photos to show you during I’m in the church later.

Merry Xmas To All My Readers!

■ During Off Day

Since hubby and I will off from work from 25th December 2008 till 2nd Jan 2009, we decided to go to Cameron Highlands (the last trip we went there was in year 2002). We’re planning to have one night stay at Ipoh (hubby friend’s vacant house) to enjoy the food there and the next day will heading to Cameron Highlands. Anyway, we haven’t fixed the date yet and for the accommodation in Cameron, we will look for it on the same day we reach there. If we can’t find any rooms on that day, then we will back to Ipoh in the evening.

I just love the fresh air in Cameron Highlands, the flowers especially Roses in the Rose Garden, and the “BOH” tea plantation where it looks like a giant green carpet cover the entire hillside. Oh my, I can’t wait for that day to come...

I would like to share 2 photos that are taken in year 2002.

What a lovely roses in the Rose Garden.

This is the tea plantation.

■ The Result Of Hubby Creation

To all my readers, you might have read this post before as I posted this previously on 14th Sep 2008 – “How Creative My Hubby Is”.

I wrote:
See, this is my hubby creation. I didn’t notice he did this to my “un-blossom” potted plant till this morning to my surprise when I open up my balcony sliding door! Shh ... and now he does not know that I’ve blog it out...hah!

In fact, yesterday night we bought flowers for praying the 15th of lunar Chinese calendar. And I can guess it should be the flower vase is unable to fit in all the bunch of flowers that we bought so hubby has to handpick the smaller flowers. And he doesn’t want to waste these pity flowers then he started to decorate them at my potted plant.

Isn’t it he is cute! Well, this is my hubby....
*******************************************************

Today I wanted to continue the story...

Right after all the flowers die, we both thought the plants will be dying soon. But, a month later, we still seeing the green leaves are so fresh in colour. That hints us the plants are not dying anyway! What we both surprise is that, hubby just “thrust” the plant’s stem into the soil and all the plants have no roots, how can they still alive? Since I curious to know, I dig out one plant to see and amazingly the plant has grow its’ roots, no wonder they can still alive. Another month later, I noticed that one of the plants has 2 flower buds (see the red circle) grow already! In fact, we never take a good care to the plants and glad they still can alive!

About 2 weeks later, one of the flower bud starts to blossom. The other one still very young! But, for this plant, the flower should be light purple colour but now it is white in colour, so strange!

Another week later, it blossom like the picture shown.

It is so amazing! We both can’t believe it, but...it is real, the plant is blossom! We never thought of wanted to plant these flowers anyhow they grow by accidentally, I would say.

■ Vacation And Travelling

Time “flies” fast and 2008 really whizzes by. It’s been 2 years hubby and I did not travel to oversea for vacation (well, company business trip to oversea is not counted in)! Hope we can arrange one in year 2009. Anyway, in my list, I have a few countries that I’m hoping so much to visit to; namely Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong and Korea. I dare not to list down “Japan, UK and Europe” in my list as these are an expensive tour that we both couldn’t afford for...hah!

Well, when talking about travelling, “dollar and cent” is the thing that comes across our both mind. Airline tickets are one of the items that we both concerning most since we prefer to travel by our own-self (meaning we will not taking the tour agent vacation package). So what we usually will do is to check through internet to look for any cheap airline tickets or any discount airfare that available at the travel agencies. For accommodation, we are not worry about as we are the member of “Swiss Garden International Vacation Club” whereby we can make our hotel room reservation before we visited those countries.

In year 2009, if both of us manage to arrange a vacation to oversea, I will choose to visit Australia. Let’s pray hard...honey.

■ My Potted Plant - Part II

Recently, my potted plants are blossom beautifully. The red circle is showing the flower buds that haven’t blossom for the 1st plant. And the yellow circle is showing the flower buds of the 2nd plant. They are lovely aren't they?

Well, you might want to hit the link to go back to my earlier post related My Potted Plant.

■ How Often You Clean Your PCs Registry

Oh no, my laptop is running slow again. He (my laptop) is trigger me must do the registry cleaning for him already...hah! What software that you guys use to clean your PC’s registry? Well, I’m using RegistryFix. RegistryFix will scan for errors related to ActiveX controls, DLL issues, Windows explorer errors, Windows installer issues, Internet Explorer errors, Iexpore and System32 errors, Runtime errors, Outlook and Outlook Express Errors, EXE errors, Svchost errors and a wide variety of other system issues. This software will inform me of where the error exists and what potential errors they might cause. Sometimes I will get more than 700 problems in my system and after fixing the errors, my laptop responded tremendously and internet surfing also gets faster. If anyone of you not so familiar with the terms of “registry cleaning”, you might want to log on to the Registry Cleaners Guide where this site will give you details on how to get the best free registry cleaner.

What is “registry cleaner”? Well, every Microsoft Windows operating system has a registry. Our system registry holds a wealth of information about our computer, which is why we constantly hear from users that after using their PC for a short length of time, it no longer works the way it used to be. This is due to we have been putting enough stuff as well as malicious programs (viruses, or advertising programs that install themselves without our permission) on it where we get a lot of clutter in the registry. So, here comes the registry cleaner to help us remove or delete all the junks automatically but leaving in everything important for us. By removing these junks or invalid entries, we can significantly increase our PC performances.

■ My Homecook Salted Fish Bone Curry

Today I would like to serve you all with my home cook “Salted Fish Bone Curry” or in Hokkien dialect it is called “Gulai Kiam Hu Kut”.

Well, we need brinjal and long bean. I can’t get the white brinjal the other day then I substitute it with the purple brinjal. Cut the brinjal into 4 and long bean into about 2 inches in length.

Besides, we also need the curry spice and salted fish bone. The curry spice is bought from the Relau lady. Before cook, soak the salted fish bone for a while then remove to drain.

First, heat up the wok with oil, then fry the curry spice till fragrant. Add in salted fish bone and continue to fry. Next, add in water, brinjal and long bean. Wow! Look at the picture, they are lovely isn’t it? Smell good too...hah! This picture is taken while I’m still cooking.

The closer looks of the dish in my wok.

Finally, my home cook “Salted Fish Bone Curry” is ready. Well, serve this dish with steam rice...come everyone, help yourself.

Note that we can add in “tau pok”. I did not add in because I not really like it.

■ Electronic Flea Trap

In my earlier post – “My Eldest Sister's Dog”, I talked about her dog that facing with flea problem. Somehow, she managed to get rid of fleas by now as she did bring her dog to visit a veterinarian and applying flea control medication. Anyway, for those who owning pets, it is advisable to treat well your pets and your house to get rid of fleas as fleas can be active the entire year in our home. My suggestion is to use an electronic flea trap to help rid your home of fleas.

Electronic flea trap is an electronic device which heats up to the range of temperature that fleas are able to see. They are attracted to it because they thought of the device as a kitten or a dog for them to infest. The fleas jump up to the trap, fall through the grid on the base, and are killed on the disposable sticky pad. It is estimated that the pad is active for up to three months and need to be replace when filled with fleas. Somehow, the flea traps are not going to kill off all of the fleas as they can deal with the adult fleas only.

The benefits of the Electronic Flea Trap are:
* It is safe, cordless and effective
* It is chemical-free so it’s ecologically safe
* It can help clear a room of fleas overnight

■ Wedding Party

Saturday, 15th Nov, hubby and I attended his colleague’s wedding party. This is the 1st time we attend a wedding dinner in a pub or lounge or bar. The venue is BAGAN Bar and Restaurant which is opposite Phor Tay high school near Gurney Drive.

Guests are requested to pen down their signature in the signature book at the arrival entrance. After the signature, female guests will be tied with this cute butterfly thingy at their wrist while male guests will be tied with fluorescent strap at their wrist. Sorry, no example on male’s strap – forget to snap photo of it.

The wedding party started at 6:30pm with serving of drinks (fruit punch blended) and snacks. The bride and groom marched in and have a cake cutting ceremony (outdoor) at 7:30pm. The groom is giving a short speech after the cake cutting ceremony.

Right after the speeches, all guests are requested to go in to the bar to enjoy the food. The food served in the wedding party was “Western Buffet Dinner”. Well, besides fruit punch, liquor are served too!

The environment is not bad. All guests are pampered with their lovely music night long. And when time about 10:30pm, the life band will “spice up” all of guests with their great songs and performances.

Me and hubby left the party at about 11:00pm.

■ Acai - Nature's Energy Fruit

Acai berry is a powerful fruit that I think it should be an interesting topic to share. Well, Acai berry is a fruits that grow in a palm tree native to the Amazon. Acai palm by its Latin name is “Euterpe oleracea” but natives pronounce it as “Ah-sigh-ee”. Acai is a deep purple berry, about an inch in diameter.

Many studies and researches has been carry out and found that Acai pulp contains:
* A remarkable concentration of antioxidants that help combat premature aging, with ten times more antioxidants than red grapes and ten to thirty times the anthocyanins of red wine.

* A synergy of monounsaturated healthy fats, dietary fiber, and phytosterols, to help promote cardiovascular system and digestive tract health.

* An almost perfect essential amino acid complex in conjunction with valuable trace minerals, vital to muscles.

■ Green Wooden Ladder

When I saw this green wooden ladder, my first reaction is...hey, I’m gonna snap a photo of this and then post on my blog...hah!

Well, I took this photo several weeks ago. This ladder is belongs to my downstairs neighbour. I think it is cool...I mean the green wooden ladder! And also he is artistry enough to paint his wooden ladder into this “striking” green. Most of us, we just don’t care and don’t bother to paint our ladder but he did! Do you ever think of painting your wooden ladder if you owned one? Well, I will paint with lacquer instead of colour paint.

■ Chiropractors

Hubby has slipped disc problem and from time to time he needs to visit physiotherapy to do some treatments. Today, I’m going to share a little knowledge on chiropractors. Chiropractors is a natural healing method that treat problems with joints, bones and muscles, and the effects they have on the nervous system that involve non-surgical, non-invasive and drugless treatment of adjustment and therapies. People of all ages can benefit from chiropractic treatment no matter babies and children, adulthood and pregnant women. There’s a chiropractor center located at Plaza Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

For those who reside in United States, if you have no idea which chiropractic to go for, then you must try to contact San Antonio Chiropractor because it is the right choice for everyone! You can find out more information about this Chiropractor in San Antonio by clicking the links provided here.

■ Meet Up With JLE and Kacang

Tuesday (11 Nov 08), hubby & I met up with JLE and Kacang. (JLE and Kacang is their nick name of course - they came back to Penang from Japan). We picked them up at Krystal Point, then straight heading to Suntech (near Sunshine Square) to have our lunch. Well, the food is not bad.

This food is ordered by JLE. Sorry I forget about the name of this dish.

This "Black Pepper Chicken" is ordered by Kacang.

This "Honey Chicken" is ordered by hubby.

And this one is belong to me. It is pork with some gravy. Sorry I forget about the dish’s name.

After having our lunch, we chats a while in the restaurant then heading to BJ Complex as both of them wanted to buy DVDs (Hong Kong drama series). Yeah, both of them managed to buy DVDs that they’re looking for. Well, when they both back to Japan, they can start doing their “homework”. You guys know what I mean by “homework”...hahaha.
We shopped in BJ Complex till about 5:30pm then bring both of them back home. We reached their house (Tanjung Bungah) at about 6:30pm. They can't stay with us till night because they will go out to "pasar malam" with their relatives.

After dropped them, hubby & I decided to have our dinner at one of the western food stalls located at Mount Eskine. Hubby ordered Mayo Fruity Chicken the above pix. Well, this is the 1st time we try and it is not bad, taste good!
And I ordered "Garlic Chicken" below pix. This one we try it many times already! And we both also like the garlic chicken. Hubby is too hungry that day, he ordered another plate of garlic chicken as well...hah!

Lastly, I'm so happy that we're able to meet up with JLE & Kacang and we really had a great time.
