Just now around 11:30am, I received a phone call from TM Point saying that they are at my downstair and will come to my unit to sent a hamper for hubby.

■ Sink Caddy

During my pass US trip (July 2010), I saw this kitchen gadget called "sink caddy" at Alberto's house. I chat a little about it to Davidson...I told him that I like the sink caddy so much and where can I get it in the US...since I was there and I wanted to buy one for myself. I think I won't get it in Penang, I'm not sure anyway! But then Davidson said, he forget which stores they get it from already! Well, I was like, nevermind...just forget about it.

Anyway, yesterday I get this item already and it is sent by Davidson...far far away from US to me at Penang. How good you both, Davidson and Alberto. Thank you so much, thank you so much...I really, really like it. I'm going to place this gadget at my new house kitchen sink. You sending me this gadget just the right timing, Davidson.

Note:
We must have double sink in order to use this gadget. The both "pocket" is for placing the sponge. So just slot the "U-shape" of the sink caddy in between of our double sink.

■ My 10th Anniversary Celebration

Well, 1st Jan is me and hubby marriage anniversary besides a "New Year". Every year, hubby is the one that have to remind me on this "big day" - where to dine and what to eat! But, this year, hubby forget about this big day as his head is fully loaded with house renovation matter besides his everyday workload...poor him!

So this year, it is me that hints hubby where to dine and where to eat...he was like, "OMG! Sorry dear, I've forget about this big day of us!". So, last minute decision, we went to nearby restaurant to have our special dinner. We choose to dine in Victoria Station. Here are the food that we ordered.

I was MIA due to baby Lindy have to admitted in hospital on 27 Nov and discharged yesterday 01 Dec 10. High fever, whole body shivering and palms and foot turns grey. She needs antiobiotic to fight with the germs and now she is recovering; left flu and cough. Poor little girl.

■ My House Renovation

My new home is in the renovation mode now. Lately, I’m so busy (besides taking care of baby Lindy) looking into home remodel or house renovation kind of stuffs via the internet or magazine.

Well, before the renovation project starts, the first thing that we (hubby and I) look into is our house layout. We firmed with our decision where to extend and where to hack and so on and so forth. After done with our proposed house layout, the next thing is to get a few quotations from a few contractors to compare which one is giving the cheapest quote. I would said, this is not an easy job as we need to “on-site” with the contractors, explain to them what has need to be done. Next, the contractors also need time to come out with their quotation. In addition, we need to keep follow up with them and chase for the quotation too! Well, it is really a time consuming task!

Anyway, just my sharing here…Bisonbid.com is a very useful website where we can easily and it is rather save time in finding our desire contractor (of course the cheapest one) to perform our house renovation project be it bathroom, kitchen or entire home. What we need to do is just to post up our detail what has to be done and our budget for the project on their website.

First time I cook "Asam Pedas". Hmm...successful and it is so delicious and very easy to cook.

Serving for 2 - 3 persons...
1) Blend these (shallots-6pcs, garlic-3pcs, red chili-6pcs and Shrimp paste or belacan in malay)
2) Fishes
3) Lemongrass-2pcs
4) Pineapple
5) Ginger flower or Bunga Kantan in Malay
6) Turmeric powder or Serbuk Kunyit (a little)
7) Tamarind juice or Asam Jawa in Malay
8) Cucumber (optional)
9) Salt and Sugar

■ Rocking Chair

This was a week ago. We bought this rocking chair as Lindy and I falling in love with it when we stayed at Davidson's house (at Houston, Texas) as well as June's house (at Portland, Oregon) last July trip at US.

Well, it took us some time to find this kind of rocking chair in Penang. What we have here is all not similar type as Davidson and June's, so we do not buy it. Anyway and finally, we found it last week.

To answer you, Rehana...the "leg" of the chair is not curve in shape so it won't "kepit" Lindy's leg. Thanks for concerning about Lindy's safety.

■ Can We Get This At M'sia

This product was indirectly introduced to us (hubby and I) when we stayed at Davidson’s house at Houston, Texas.

We wanted to borrow an iron from Davidson to iron our shirts; then Davidson said there’s one thing can aid us if we kind of “lazy” to do the ironing…He added, what we need is just to spray then “tarik-tarik” (means pull and pull) our shirt will do! Wow… Sound interesting isn’t it? What is that? Here you go…look at the photo below!

See the instruction, step 1 to 3 …after reading these, our first reaction is like this…”Sure or not, can work meh?”

After we do the experiment on our shirts, “Yessss……….it is really worked!” Jz spray the liquip onto our shirt; then pull and pull the wrinkles area; next let it dry...Wow! As easy as ABC...

Can we find this item in Malaysia? Anyway, I grab one bottle back to Penang…hah!

I'm very very busy right after back in Penang...whole bunch of list in my hand that I need to do everyday...Phew! At last I got some time to continue update this blog now...but will continue write it in a very brief, simple and fast mode.

Day46 to Day49 - (20 Jul 10 to 23 Jul 10) - (Tue to Fri)
We were still stayed in Austin, TX these few days. And will be flying to Oregon tomorrow morning (24 Jul, Sat).

Day50 to Day59 - (24 Jul 10 to 2 Aug 10 ) - (Sat to Tue )
Reach Portland, Oregon and stay at friend’s (June) house until 2nd Aug. We do a lot of shopping overhere; besides visiting to waterfalls and winery places.

June's house, a very nice and big house...to me! June cooked us a very nice meals...and we request her to cook chicken "drumsticks" instead of chicken "breasts"...hah!

During our stayed at Portland, OR; we visited this Multnomah Waterfall.

We do visited the winery yard...but too bad during that season, the grapes are just so little tiny.

We celebrated hubby’s birthday (19 Jul) at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse, Lake Travis, TX. Just to share some of the photos of “sunset-watching” while enjoying hubby’s birthday dinner over here.

This is the place where we can dine as well as watching the sunset...and at the same time the handsome guy is singing plenty of songs and playing his guitar to entertain all guests, how romantic!

Today is hubby "big" day. Poor "big big boy" have need to go work on this special day. Anyway, working or not; special day still special day for us, so we will celebrate his big day in Lake Travis restaurant right after he's back from office.

Ok, right after the Natural Science Musuem, we went to Davidson's friend (Alberto) house to take a rest. He is so generous and prepared a very tasty home-cook italian food for us. Here is the photos of the food. Looks so yummy right! Drooling or not after seeing this photo?

After taken the delicious dinner, now is time we all ready to walk to a field area nearby Alberto's house to have the "fireworks-watching" around 9:30pm. Well, 4th Jul is The United State independent day and fireworks is playing on 4th-Jul itself but not 3rd-Jul mid-nite 12am.

Day30 – (04 Jul 10, Sun)

Today…lots of lots of activities for us… let’s follow me!

Right after our lunch, Davidson is bringing us to have a walk in a park (I need to clarify with Davidson again what they called the park…hah!). There is a Japanese garden in this park. We took a lot of photos there. Do enjoy some of the photos that I attached below.

Well, after sweating a lot in the outdoor activity (I mean the park’s activity), now it is time we cool down ourselves in the Musuem Of Natural Science…hah! We visited the Cockrell Butterfly Center around 3:15pm and we took about 2 hrs to explore the butterfly farm. Here, are some of the butterflies and bugs photo that taken during the tour. Enjoy!

■ US Trip - Day29 (Houston, TX)

Day29- (03 Jul 10, Sat)

Today, we're visiting the Johnson NASA Space Center in Houston. We went out early today around 7:30am to have our breakfast then heading to the space center. The first thing we did once we reached there is to take a ride on the “blue” tram since we are just the right timing before it depart to the visitng center. Well, we learn a lot from the blue tram tour as they have a tour guide that explaining each of everything to visitors.

What a bad day, on the way back to the main hall (indoor), and while our tram is almost reached the check out point, there suddenly came the heavy rain with heavy wind that blow to the tram; all passengers are getting wet then! Poor little Lindy was in the tram too! We have to cover up baby Lindy with our body so that she won’t get much wet and luckily I got bring umbrella. Hubby is using the umbrella to protect Lindy as well besides his body. At the end, we both get wet from head to toe but baby Lindy is just a little wet on her hair…phew!

Once getting down from the tram, immediately we changed shirt and pant for Lindy and dry up her hair. Next, I went to a souvenir shop to buy a new T-shirt and get myself change immediately too! Hubby didn’t change his t-shirt as he’s just get a bit wet on his shirt but pity him, he gets wet on the jeans and shoe. Anyway, we missed another 2 tram tours (that is White and Red tram) cos’ the weather was so bad that day and the tram tour was cancelled too.

Rainy or sunny, we continue our tour in the main hall. Here, I’d like to share some of the photos while we’re doing our "tour-around". For more photos, check out my Facebook yah!

Yipee! Today is my birthday…what to eat for this big day ahhh!!!

Ok, where to celebrate in the downtown of Austin? Hubby asking me….
Well, since I got the whole bunch of list (where to dine) from my lovely friend, Jaclyn; I choose “Truluck’s Restaurant” as the name is so beautiful. It is just a walking distance from the hotel that we’re staying here.

Wow! The restaurant is hi-class leh, got a gentleman playing piano one! And here I’d like to show the food we ordered…fantastic and tasty! Sure you drooling...

■ US Trip – Day21 to Day23 (Austin, TX)

Day21 to Day23 - (25 Jun 10 to 27 Jun 10) - (Fri to Sun)

Day21 (Fri)
* As usual, everyday routines and chores for me to perform in day time.

* Evening, right after hubby back from work, we went to meet up with Davidson (our relative, orang Penang jugak but already here in Texas for 10 years) and his friend Berke. We drove about an hour to San Antonio for the river walk as well as having
our dinner over there; what a beautiful place! Anyway, we back to hotel around 12 mid-nite.

Day22 (Sat)
Well, today we all wake up late; just do our shopping in shopping mall as well as having our lunch too.

In the late-evening, we went to Zilker Park to fly kite. This park is a recreational area in the heart of south Austin whereby it is near to Barton Springs Pool and Lady Bird Lake. This park is really huge and it’s about 350 acres, it is also a venue to handle large scale events such as Musical Festival and Kite Festival.

Day23 (Sun)
Today we decided to go to San Marcos Premium Outlets. We went together with one of hubby colleague from Penang too! We took about 35min drive to reach the outlets. This outlet is voted as “Third-Best Place to Shop in the World” and it is the largest shopping destination in Texas and the 3rd largest in the world. It consists of over 140 luxury and brand-name outlet stores that you can shop till you broke, I bet you!

* Well, during office hours hubby will be at his working place while me and Lindy will staying in the hotel room; I will busy with bathing for Lindy, put her to sleep, feed her with milk-milk and diapers changing etc etc.

* After she falls into her slumberland, there come the time I can glue to laptop updates my blog and upload photos in FB.

* When hubby back to hotel room, we will having our dinner follow by, for sure we will go out to walk around; be it to the park or to the shopping mall.

■ US Trip - Day17 (Austin, TX)

* Today is the 1st day hubby will work in a new place.

* Hubby off from work and reached hotel around 6:30pm, then he bring us to Whole Food supermarket to buy a few items that we need.

* After grab the things that we need, we ahead to Town Hall to enjoy our walk there and also took some photos of the Town Hall view. Here you go…enjoy the photos!

■ US Trip - Day16 (Austin, TX)

Day16 - (20 Jun 10, Sun)
* Fly from Chandler to Austin, Texas. It was a 2 hrs flight from Sky Harbour airport, Phoenix.

* Right after reached Austin, we get our new car in Hertz (Mazda 6) and drive to our hotel (Extended Stay America) at 6th Street, Austin Downtown. We will stay at this hotel for more than one month (which is from 20 Jun to 24 Jul). I think it is rather bored huh to stay at the same hotel room for so long…sian! Luckily I got my new laptop where I can keep myself busy besides taking care of Lindy and updating my 1-mth+ Texas story from this post onwards.

* Ok, this hotel is “so-so” only…It got kitchen as well and is equipped with cooking utensils.

* Weather here is better than Arizona. At least at nite time, when the wind blow, it is not the “warm” wind. It is just like Penang.. at least the tarred road is not expel the heat out when we walk on the road.

* In Austin, even it is 9pm the sky is still bright; can be said is like in Malaysia 7pm.

* If compared, I still love Santa Clara, CA the best; nice weather and nice environment.

■ US Trip - Day9 to Day16 (Chandler, AZ)

Day9 to Day16 - (13 Jun 10 to 20 Jun 10) - (Sun to Sun)
*We left Las Vegas around 7:45am and start our journey to Chandler, Arizona. Again another 5hrs 50min drive (with speed 65-75 miles/hr) to reach Chandler. This means we are no longer in California states anymore; goodbye California…and…Arizona, I’m coming!

*We stayed at SpringHill Suites, Marriot.

*The weather over there is really “hot”. The tarred road is expelling the heat out from the surface and our foot can feel the heat. This happen during day time as well as night time (like 9pm to 10pm still feel the same, later than this time I’ve no idea already as we never go out so late, but I guess it should be still hot cos’ early in the morning the feeling is just the same too!).

*One thing I want to share here…cactus plants are plant in the road divider and the cactus is very very huge and very very tall – higher than a man height. Sorry, I forget to snap a photo of those cactuses. Anyway, Arizona is a dessert area huh!

*We went to Tempe Town Lake on 19 Jun to snap some photos. But we dare not to walk around in the park as it is very very hot. But the people here, they just like to get sun-burnt and purposely went to the park to have picnic etc, OMG! We Malaysian, nampak matahari terik, cabut fast fast dy…wakkakakaka.

*Later in the afternoon, we went to Chinatown at Pheonix. There have an Asian grocery store, Chinese herbs store, Chinese restaurant etc. This place is very ngam to us lo; easily can find the things we want to eat and buy.

*We checked out SpringHill, Marriot 20 Jun at 10am and drive towards to car rental station to return our car (Infinity…goodbye) then take the shuttle to Sky Harbour airport. We fly to Austin, Texas. – took us 2 hours to reach Austin.

■ US Trip - Day8 to Day9 (Las Vegas, CA)

Day8 to Day9 - (12 Jun 10 to 13 Jun 10) - (Sat to Sun)
*We left Camarillo aound 7:45am and have 5hrs 10min drive (with speed 65-75 miles/hr) to reach Las Vegas, California – Imperial Hotel is where we stay at.

*After settle down in the hotel, we took a short nap to “re-charge” ourselves for "to-night" usage…haha! Cos’ night view of Las Vegas is jz gorgeous and we must not missed out rite!

*We spend our nite at Las Vegas without gambling as both of us also dislike gambling anyway! So, we take our own sweet time to enjoy our nite to dine in the Eiffle Tower Restaurant. Well, the foods were delicious and fantastic. No wonder it is long queue and we have to wait like an hour!

*Right after fill up our stomach, we stroll around the streets to enjoy side seeing of the nite view; enjoy the water show as well as the volcano show. Bb Lindy was just doing fine in her stroller. When she feels sleepy she just sleeps all the way thru’. Everyone just praise her that she is an “easy baby”!

*We spend our nite until like 1am in the early morning then we went back to hotel to have a good nite sleep before starting our next journey to Chandler, Arizona.

*The weather in LV is warm at day time and night time it is not really cold too. Just wearing a long sleeve shirt will do.

*We checked out from Imperial Hotel on 13 Jun around 8:00am.

■ US Trip - Day6 to Day8 (Camarillo, CA)

Day6 to Day8 - (10 Jun 10 to 12 Jun 10) - (Thu to Sat)
* We left Santa Clara around 8am and heading to Camarillo. It took us 5 hrs 51min (with speed 65-75 miles/hr) to reach our destination – “Days In” hotel.

* Actually we have 2-nite stays with Days In which is (10th and 11th nite) but we sort of not really like the environment over there so we decided to move out to other hotel the next day. So, next task after settle down our stuffs in the room, we cruising nearby area to look-see look-see for other hotel and we found Holiday Inn Express. So, the 2nd day, we move to Holiday Inn Express.

* On Friday (11 Jun), hubby went out to have a discussion with his colleague and came back like 3pm. So, we have a little time to do our shopping at Camarillo Premium Outlets. We bought a few shirts and pants for Lindy since “Osh Kosh” is doing sales. The price is really worth after conversion to Ringgit – that is why I’m buying…hi hi!

* After shopping, late evening, we have dinner together with hubby colleague and his wife at Wood Ranch Grill restaurant. Wow! The pork ribs that we ordered are really fantastic!

* For the weather in Camarillo, I would say it is a bit warmer than Santa Clara during the day time. But the nite time, we still feel freezing cold if standing outside without putting on jacket.

* We checked out from Holiday Inn Express on 12 Jun around 7:45am and start our journey to Las Vegas. Well, another 5hrs 10min drive for us.

■ US Trip - Day1 to Day6 (Santa Clara, CA)

Day1 to Day6 - (5 Jun 10 to 10 Jun 10) - (Sat to Thu)

* We arrived at Marriot Residence Inn at Santa Clara, California on 5 Jun (Sat) around 9:30pm.

* Residence Inn has a very nice room layout; it is like a house whereby it has kitchen that complete with cutlery, gas stoves and fridge (tall unit type). Well, it is very convenient for me as I can just cook anything I want when hubby is busy for coming back to buy me lunch.

* Weather in Santa Clara is very nice. Eventhough now is summer but we won't feel the "hot" like in M'sia. When the wind blow, we still feel so cool. And at evening and nite, if wind blow, we will feel freezing cold without jacket.

* Hubby schedule is "packed" at Santa Clara plant, so we are not planning to visit any of the tourism centres; moreover we’ve been before most of the places previously.

* We managed to have a dinner with hubby colleagues and their family…so happy to get together with them, they are so nice and so friendly.

* Also we managed to shop at “The Great Mall”. Hubby bought a few tees from Timberland and Lindy gets her baby GAP too (it is clearance eh, but very worth the price)! I didn’t buy any for myself at this moment cause I’ll wait for the last destination that we will going to visit where that particular “State” in the US is free-tax. Have to jimat-cermat lah!

* We checked out from this hotel around 8am on 10 Jun (Thu) to start our journey to Camarillo. It's going to take us 5 hrs 51min drive from this hotel to Camarillo.

It was not a smooth journey at the very beginning, Claire and JLE. Here goes my story…
First thing first, we have needs to fly from PG to SIN; SIN to HK then HK to SFO.

So things happen after we landed in SIN airport and wanted to transit to HK. The transit time is short for us in fact, we knew it already but if everything is going fine then it will not cause any problem at all. But…but…due to the airplane from PG to SIN has a little delay, then makes everything gone hay-wire for us. Cos’ at the SIN airport, we need to take the skytrain from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3; plus a very long way for us to go in order to reached the gate (until I forget what gate now!). When the time we rushed and ran to reach the gate, the electronic sign board has shown “Gate Closed” already, shit! What should we do now! Hubby talks to the PIC there, they help us up by making phone call to the PIC in the flight. Lastly, they allowed us to go in…phew! (This was happening in SIN airport).

Next, what else happening to us? Another “un-smooth” thing happening again! When we reached at SFO airport and after we have taken our luggage; right away we took the train to the Car Rental Station. By right, hubby’s admin staff (in Penang) has booked the car for us in advance already, which means when we get down to the car rental station, hubby can straight away getting his car without any delaying in doing registration and etc. To our surprise when the lady in the car rental punch in hubby details (as per his member card), she couldn’t find any of hubby’s record that he is renting a car! My god, another 30min gone with that again. Shit! Time gone is not a big deal but the most is we are really tired already and still have to bear with that long-winded processing take place!

Anyway, people used to say, when the bad things goes away, then come the good things huh! Finally, we reached our hotel safely at about 9:30pm (US time, Sat). After un-pack some of the things, we went out to fast-food stall (Jack in the box, where it is my favorite fast food stall) to fill up our hungry stomach.

■ Up Up And Away

3 of us (hubby, Lindy and I) will be leaving Penang to United States this afternoon; departing time is at 3:15pm. We will be there for tentatively says 2 months and will be very much depending on hubby's working projects there. Don’t worry, once I settle down in there, I'll online to read you guys blog as well as writing my own blogs. Do follow my blog for my stories if you're interested ok! See you…

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank these two kind-hearted neighbour:

** My downstairs neighbour (Ms. K) - who will be temporary, become my potted plants “babysitter”. I’ve moved all my potted plants to her house and she will help me to “babysit” them!

** My opposite blog neighbour (Mr.A) – who will be temporary, become our car and my fishes “babysitter”. We've moved our small aquarium to his house to ask his favour to feed the fishes. Also he will help us to start our car engine and cruise our car inside our apartment compound. We ask him to drive our car to go work or go shopping etc, but he dares not to…He said this is a very “heavy” responsibilities to drive people's car... hah! So, he prefer to just “cruise” in our taman will do.

See, they are good-good neighbours rite? Hmm...“Semangat Kejiranan”-lah tu, agree?

■ Genting Strawberry Leisure Farms - Part III

Just would like to show the items we bought in the farms. First thing first, strawberry is a must-huh!

Another one look so different from strawberry, what is that ahhh? Oo.. that is the dried "Ribena" flower-loh.

These are the mushroom snacks.

I also bought one of this mosquito plant.

Bought baby or baby umbrella? Sure is umbrella-loh. Bought one for adult and one for my baby.
